Net Run Rate (NRR) Calculator (With Tournament Rules)

Net Run Rate is the primary tie-breaker in major cricket tournaments (IPL, ICC World Cup). Crucially, under official ICC rules: if a team is bowled out (all out) before their overs expire, their rate is divided by the full scheduled match overs (e.g. 50.0 in ODI or 20.0 in T20), not the fewer overs faced.

Mathematical Formula & Explanation

In standard cricket mathematics, calculating values per over must be performed against completed legal deliveries divided by 6:

NRR = (Total Runs Scored / Total Overs Faced) - (Total Runs Conceded / Total Overs Bowled)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the ICC all-out rule for NRR?

ICC Playing Conditions state that if a batting team is bowled all out, their overs faced are counted as the full quota (50.0 in ODIs, 20.0 in T20s) so they receive no unfair advantage by losing all wickets quickly.
